Fim de semana retrasado, eu me encontrava de folga passeando em Curitiba. Não será grande surpresa para o meu leitor se eu disser que resolvi visitar o Museu Oscar Niemeyer, o MON. O “Olho”, como é comumente chamado em referência ao formato do seu incrível vão livre, é um destino turístico popular não somente por sua óbvia atratividade arquitetônica, mas também pela excelência de suas exposições que, segundo descrição do próprio museu, colocou o MON no mapa dos museus brasileiros importantes, que antes de limitava à rota SP-RJ. Para minha grata surpresa, ao perambular pelo museu visitando seus espaços e exposições, percebi que ele se propunha a ser casa de todas as artes visuais e que o cinema não era exceção. Foi assim que conheci a Heist Films Entertainment, uma produtora de filmes nada convencional.

O Olho fica lá no alto. Para chegar até o Olho propriamente dito (que abriga uma deslumbrante exposição sobre João Turín), é preciso atravessar um corredor cujo teto não se enxerga, ainda que seja todo iluminado. Ele dá numa pequena sala, na qual encontrei um gigantesco pôster de um filme intitulado originalmente “Paranormal”, porém com título em português “Garota Diabólica”. Nele, uma moça se sentava à beirada de uma cama com o olhar tresloucado que só os possuídos têm, punhos medonhamente retorcidos. “Até aí”, pensei, “mais um clichê e desinteressante filme de terror”. Porém, à direita do pôster, no canto inferior da salinha, uma velha televisão 14″ ligada, sem nenhum sinal. Olhando o pôster mais de perto, entre as clássicas folhinhas de louro que anunciam a participação dos filmes em festivais importantes, em vez de Cannes ou Sundance, lia-se Hoax Festival. Hum.

Gustavo Von Ha tem sido apontado por muitos críticos como um dos mais inventivos artistas contemporâneos por aqui. É ele o criador da Heist Films Entertainment, uma empresa fictícia dedicada a produzir e distribuir trailers de filmes que jamais serão feitos. Não, “Garota Diabólica” não é um filme de verdade, embora tivesse tudo para ser. Na pequena sala introdutória do MON citada acima e em mais três pequenos espaços verticalizados a caminho do Olho (a parte amarela que sustenta o Olho), estão em exibição os mais variados objetos sobre quatro trailers de filmes que não existem. Pôsteres, fotos, vestimentas, perucas, roteiros em papel (quem saberá se realmente há alguma coisa escrita neles?) e os próprios trailers se juntam para uma celebração improvável do trailer como obra de arte, absoluto em si mesmo. A fragmentação narrativa proporcionada pelo trailer, que normalmente serviria para motivar o espectador a assistir a obra completa, passa a ser um gênero narrativo completo, algo de muito pós-moderno. Saber que não há nada além do próprio trailer para ser visto causa um estranhamento muito grande, uma reação muito intensa que se contrasta com a simplicidade da exposição. A exposição é open-ended; um convite à imaginação para montar sua própria narrativa final. Muito tentador.
É difícil ignorar, no entanto, que os quatro trailers de filmes em exibição, a saber “Garota Diabólica (Paranormal), “Hollywood em Chamas 1” (Gasoline 1), “Hollywood em Chamas 2” (Gasoline 2) e “A Busca do Amor” (TokyoShow), fazem alusão aos grandes clichês dos gêneros cinematográficos (a começar pela tradução de seus títulos para o português). Não seria difícil imaginar desenvolvimentos e finais para tais filmes, mas talvez não fossem dos mais originais. Mas tudo isso não parece ser à toa. Segundo o encarte da exposição, “[Todos os trailers] possuem peças publicitárias, atores e atrizes profissionais, páginas na internet e nas redes sociais, DVDs distribuídos em bancas de filmes piratas e cartazes – em suma, tudo o que um filme real deve ter por convenção”. Mas que filme real deve ter tudo isso por convenção? Certamente, um filme que visa alcançar grandes públicos, vender bem. E dinheiro é a alma do negócio, não é? Ao produzir trailers que “emulam uma realidade que nunca se concretiza em sua totalidade”, o autor está, ainda que em segundo plano, mostrando a própria desvalorização do filme como objeto final do público e, em oposição, escancarando a ênfase dada ao processo de venda do filme antes mesmo que ele exista. A realidade ou concretização aqui não são importantes, mas sim a fantasia. Fantasia criada em torno da criação cinematográfica, das pessoas nela envolvidas, nos objetos utilizados, tudo elevado a um status de proporção descabida. Por quê? Dinheiro. No mundo em que vivemos, a “realidade” do filme, sua mensagem, sua essência, é pouco importante perto do quanto se pode lucrar com ele. Franquias de filmes, bem simuladas por Hollywood em Chamas 1 e 2, talvez sejam o maior exemplo disso. Filmes muitas vezes sem sentido já têm seus nomes e informações vendidos e marketados antes mesmo de existirem, pois o público parece não se cansar. Será que não nos cansamos mesmo ou somos eternamente levados a verificar algo que foi tão incessantemente martelado em nossas cabeças? Ah, a expectativa.
“Heist Films Entertainment” (que é, a propósito, o nome da exposição) pode ser um mágico convite ao universo de possibilidades que o cinema nos proporciona ou um não tão mágico convite ao pobre universo da mesmice a que ele nos condena. Por ambos os motivos, imperdível.
